If you are reading this article, it can mean two things – either you are a fast-scaling web design agency or you are thinking to start your own WordPress development agency. In both cases, you need a reliable partner who:
- will do a good job on time;
- will never contact your clients or promote own services among your clients;
- will be easy to work with.
Luckily, there are plenty of white label software agencies to choose from. So how can you make sure that the partnership will be successful? How can you be sure you can trust this vendor?
Check the portfolio
Even a white label agency that works under other people’s brands will have a portfolio. “We are under NDA” story doesn’t work here. For example, we decided to make quite a few sites just for the portfolio purposes, so we could show our capabilities to you! We also worked with non-agency clients, who were happy to share their sites without NDA. Why we did it? Because we believe YOU should be able to see our work, before you sign up to our service.
At the same time, you need to make sure that your white label wp partner complies with NDA, and doesn’t showcase works of the other partners.
Ask to meet in the office
Unfortunately, there are plenty of shady white label “software houses” that in fact don’t have an office or people. They simple hire the cheapest labor on Upwork and sell it to you. Such agencies don’t care about the quality or a long term partnership, and you should avoid them at all costs.
If you see a website with lots of office images and pictures of the staff, run them by Google images search to make sure they are real and are not from the stock photos sites.
Then, offer to meet in THEIR office….even if they are across the globe. Simply say: “Hi, I am in your country right now. Can I step by your office?” – believe me, 90% of scammers will back off.
Do you actually like them?
It’s a really good idea to call or chat with the management or designers before you sign up for the service. You need to see if you actually like those people. You will spend a lot of time together, and this time should be productive and pleasurable.
Some people like official, robotic communication style; others prefer something more relaxed and cheerful. Everybody is different, so you need to see whether you like your potential partners’ personality and working style.
